There's a lot going on in both RL and SL that I'm having a hard time understanding. IRL with all the gun issues and cannabis issues; yes we all know I am pro cannabis considering it's one of my biggest medications. In SL we went from people supporting those who created original mesh to supporting those who are outsourcing mesh because “who cares, everyone does it?” but like.. we should all care, in my opinion. You as a regular un-modeling person has been made to believe you have to begin modeling yourself to have a business here, or to have a place in SL itself outside of blogging and in designing. Some of these people are not doing this, however, they're sending pictures and money to someone else to make these models and saying they've done it.
As someone who has learned to 3d model, in my years attempting to learn because it's fun and as a hobby; I've become a modeler for more than a small handful of stores. The people I've met that helped me learn and teach me also model for other stores, in the background silently. When I began learning to mesh this was happening, so it's true.. everyone does do it... but... what's the difference between that and using a template in SL? I don't see one. Someone else is modeling and rigging and baking and then the textures are edited in a baking program and photoshop for textures. People aren't talking about this though, they're just praising people. I have a hard time praising people I haven't spoken to and know they at least have modeling knowledge of their own or do some of their own work. I haven't supported people I know use other modelers and refuse to learn for themselves because 'it's hard' or 'they can't understand' or 'it looks too boring I just want to texture.' As a disabled person with a chronic illness that causes my mind to completely shut down for days at a time, I've not only learned to 3d model on my own with just the aid of friends in our preferred teaching method but I've also gotten well enough to impress myself, which embarrasses me and keeps me from wanting to push much with Tanoshi because I feel narcissist like to be impressed with my own work; but I've never had a way to visually express my creativity before so it's enthralling.
Meanwhile other stores put their names next to stores they 'work' with to try and remain relevant after being called out on not doing their own work.No one notices though, because we're all caught up looking at only what's right in front of us. I've been watching from the background for a while and I can say without a doubt that I won't be leaving SL over it or anything sad or dramatic like that, but I felt it was something that needed to be talked about because in my mind as bloggers we are the people who are supposed to tell the consumers who is worth purchasing with. Not because they're popular. Because they're well made, done by the person who has put hours to days to sometimes weeks of work in to them alone or with just one or two people helping in different parts that they are transparent about having; like Tanoshi being five people. We work together to learn, we help each other. One of us scripts, four of us model and we keep teaching each other the modeling stuff we learn, and three of us texture and help teach each other what we learn. Everything released from Tanoshi is hand modeled by the people listed on our website and each release is explained as to whose hands went in to the work of it so you guys know exactly who and what you are supporting. All releases are done by percentages so every employee can see just how much their work was appreciated. I go the extra step to ensure no one's ripped off or disappointed to the best of my ability with Tanoshi, and so do every single one of the employees with me. I really don't like what's become of the blogging community in SL. I've purchased things bloggers made look amazing that were rigged terribly and looked awful in world but was from a 'popular' store. However, rather than just complain or silently wonder what we're all doing I've decided to make it clear what I think/feel blogging should be about and continue blogging my way. Not because someone's popular but because their work is well done and from what I know of them they do it on their own or percentage out to their modelers so no one's getting ripped off on sales.
I'm
leaving for two weeks to go to Canada for a break away from all the
messes in both worlds! I don't want to deal! My life is finally
getting back in order irl and I'm following goals set out and doing
really well, which is why you guys have been seeing more of me.
But
for now I'mma GET OUT XD At least for a little while. Then when I
come back I have a few cute outfits to show you. Also I want no IMs
in world I am not speaking a word about who I know does what. That's
not my lifestyle. I'm here to show you Kreao's adorable skirt,
because I've watched her grow for years! I also have on some heels by
Reign that went with an outfit Blueberry released a bit back, and am
showing off a Blueberry group gift. I had no idea how many stores
still did group gifts since I hadn't been shopping for so long, and I
have to say I'm really happy about it. I also have a bunch of Zombie
Suicide accessories on, as well as a pair of eyes! I hope you guys
enjoy all the goodies I'm showing off and have a great two weeks!
Think hard and decide what you want your world to be about because
that's what SL is guys, our world. We can change the things we don't
like if we really don't like them. I've been living peacefully and
happily with just one incident when I decided to try and be social
again before I realized I am not a social creature. XD Peaceful and
cute as can be, because with peace I can flourish and bloom as
beautifully as I want; and I assure you that you can too. :* Sweet
